The EuSim Group offers different simulation facilitator courses, for various target groups. Check out our course catalogue for more details about our various courses. Down below you will find all our available courses from our partners, in our activity calendar.
Enables you to start running simulation-based courses for acute care medicine addressing issues of crisis resource management (CRM).
Planning and conducting simulation setting requires technical, conceptual and social competence and personal capabilities. They may be developed through deliberate training and are refined through experience, feedback, and practise. The principle in this course is that each participant should have the possibility of practising being a facilitator having been given the theory and skills required. The course provides a mixture of theory and practice and emphasizes feedback relevant for learning in a safe and stimulating atmosphere. Participants work in small groups with close instructor interaction.
Aims to help you build up your confidence as a skilled debriefer, by enhancing your strategies and tools. Through practical exercises you will refine your skills to collect “pearls”, enhance perception, and stimulate deeper reflections. All of this in a safe learning environment enriched with different perspectives and shared experiences.
Conducting a debriefing can be an overwhelming experience to simulation facilitators, as it depends on various factors. More than just conducting a structured debriefing and discuss the simulation scenario, you want to facilitate deep reflection on both individual and team levels, as this will create a vehicle to shape future performance and improve patient safety. Debriefing strategies and questioning techniques can foster a constructive and safe dialogue, promote self-awareness, and catalyse performance improvement.
Helps you to identify strengths and weaknesses in your practice of teaching Crisis Resource Management using simulation and translating those reflections into a goal-oriented use of simulation for different purposes.
This level 2 course gives you, as an advanced simulation facilitator, a new point of view on the successes and barriers to optimally help participants reflect on actions. You optimize your practice in creating valuable learning opportunities during simulation-based courses. We use different interactive methods in this course like video-assisted debriefing of simulation scenario’s, case discussions, hands-on workshops, precourse reading and follow-up assignments.
Target Group You have at least 2 years of experience as a simulation educator in healthcare. You have participated in the EuSim level 1 and 2 courses (or equivalent) and are comfortable delivering SBE as a faculty member. You recognize some exciting learning opportunities where SBE could increase patient safety and quality of care but need some training on developing and managing these programmes.
Course Goals To provide you with, and allow you to practise using, the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to develop and lead a simulation-based training programme.
Course Content The role of the course developer/lead and the skills required for this role. What is a needs analysis? Why do one? How do you do one? How to write Course Aims and Objectives. Choosing the right course content and delivery methods. Practical aspects of course planning and implementation: staffing, equipment, simulation modalities, rooms, budgets. What to evaluate and how? How to develop and support your faculty.
Methods This Online course will use mixed methodologies including lectures, theoretical inputs, exchange of experiences, small group discussions, practical workshops and structured reflections. After learning about each topic, you will put your new knowledge into practice and apply your learning immediately in a small group workshop leading to sequential development of a selected course over the duration of the online training. Some consolidation of your learning will be required through set exercises in between course dates.
