Director of Danish Institute for Medical Simulation
Associate Professor, Copenhagen University Doris Østergaard is a certified specialist in Anaesthesia. In 1999 she became director of Danish Institute for Medical Simulation, where she is involved in education, development and research as well as patient safety related projects. Doris has previous experience with leading educational, patient safety and medical research projects at both the National, Scandinavian and European level. Doris is a member of the educational committee in the Danish Society of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care and main responsible for the formal theoretical training programme for anaesthesia residents. Doris is President of the European Society for Simulation applied to Medicine (SESAM) since 2007 and a Committee member in the Patient Safety Committee in European Society of Anaesthesiology (ESA) since 2007.
